Mission Statement

In classical sacrifices, the people get the good bits, and the gods get the refuse, the bits that would get thrown out otherwise.

Not our God. Leviticus (particularly Leviticus 3) describes the sacrifices that our LORD demanded from His people of Israel. God gets the kidneys, the tail, and all the fat. He gets the prime steak, He gets the best.

Today we do not literally give sacrifices of animals. For us the ultimate sacrifice has been made through our Lord, Christ Jesus. But should always be our ambition to do the same thing - to offer God the best of what we have, to offer Him the fat, and not the smoke and bones.

Making Your Home A Haven: Evening Routine

Mostly I've been successful with going to bed on time - though not at church camp the past few days.

It does make a big difference in how I function the next day if I go to bed on time. And I much prefer functioning well ;)

This week's challenge is to create an evening routine.

1. Tidy living room
2. Make lunch for tomorrow
3. Tidy kitchen
4. Clean face, brush teeth etc
5. Bible reading
6. Lights out

This sounds like a very do-able evening routine. I kept mine simple also.

I start to fall asleep if I don't get to bed on time. I have no choice. It is hard for me to stay up on the weekends. This drives dh crazy b/c he works the 2nd shift.
